Yale School of Medicine Dean Robert J. Alpern, M.D. with Yale Cancer Center Director Thomas Lynch, Jr., M.D., who co-chaired the selection committee for OnCore. The project is a collaboration between the Yale School of Medicine, the Yale Cancer Center, Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation.
In the past, research at Yale has been managed using a variety of paper forms, Access databases and Excel spreadsheets. However, they are becoming increasingly time consuming and complex to administer and Yale is now benefitting from a set of tools and processes that streamline and centralize operations.
OnCore, Yale's new Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), seamlessly integrates all of the components of research activity across the research enterprise. It provides an informatics infrastructure for managing research, including the full range of operational components (clinical, regulatory, financial and administrative) and electronic integration of patient demographics, study-specified visits and laboratory results. OnCore is designed to lessen the burden on investigators and research staff, so that conducting research is organized and efficient. It is not limited to administrative tasks, however. OnCore has the capability to capture and store research data that can be exported for additional analyses and reporting.
This site is intended to familiarize you with OnCore and provide information and contacts to assist researchers, study coordinators and others involved in human research projects. This site will be updated on a regular basis so please check back periodically.
